I met Jerry some 40 yrs ago when we did a show in Van Buren. We did a few shows throughout the 70s and 80s in that area and I'd get to visit with Jerry and his band-mates. What a wonderful guy he was..!!

We kept in touch some via e-mail over the years. Jerry was a treasure. I'm saddened to hear of his passing.

My prayers and deepest sympathies go out for Jerry and his family and friends. Be with The Lord now my friend.

Sincerely,
Chris "Tiny" Olson

Jerry always let his light shine. He was a witness where he went. He is spending this Christmas with Jesus.

It really made me sad when I saw the post on Facebook that Jerry had passed away, even though I knew the end was near. He was a true Christian gentleman and super talented. He left behind a great legacy. We certainly lost great one, but Heaven gained a fine resident. Praying for Carlene the rest of the family.

Aww, man. So sad to see this. I purchased numerous guitars, amps, and parts from Jerry over the years, including the old MSA Sidekick that got me started on this whole adventure. I never got to meet him in person, unfortunately, but he was always such a pleasure to deal with.

I met Jerry in Indianapolis when Doug Rolfe put on his gospel steel guitar show.
I helped him carry in his equipment from the car and he never forgot that.
A very kind, considerate, Christian man.
He will be greatly missed.

Jerry and I talked about Clemson and Arkansas football a lot. Danny Ford, who is my neighbor, coached at Clemson and Arkansas. Jerry and I talked about Danny A lot.

The Steel guitar Forum lost a good guy! He will be sorely missed.

I knew this was coming, just was not ready for it. I was just at his house not long ago. Jerry was a GEM of a Gentleman plus a great steel guitar picker and repair man of steels. He will be greatly missed by many here on the Forum. His wife Carlene is a Jewel of a woman. May the Lord give her Peace. R.I.P. Jerry, go rest high on that mountain. Your Friend, J.R. Rose

I sincerely hate hearing of Jerry's passing. His word was gold and he was an outstanding musician. He made a believer out of me regarding the SD10 Magnum pedal steels and he got the best tone out of a Magnum I have ever heard. Prayers to his wife, family and close friends, I know he will be missed.
