Wow, this is another shock. I met Jack in 2000 when he ran a music store in Eufaula, AL. I had the pleasure to hear him play on several occasions. It had been a while since I had talked to him, so I had no idea that he was ill. I will miss our chats. RIP my friend. Sandy and I send our prayers to Martha and the family.

Mr. Jack was the first man to ever show me how to fix my steel. He welcomed me in like i was family. To meet him was a true inspiration. I am 19 years old and he told me it made him proud to see someone of my age trying to learn about the steel. Ironically he was friends with my grandpa who played steel. And I am about to finally get my grandads sho-bud double neck that Mr. Jack worked on a while back. Unfortunately Mr. Jack didnt fix the guitar. So I emailed my grandads friend Mr. Charlie Monk. Mr Charlie got me in touch with Mr.Lloyd Green. I was fortunate enough to speak with Mr. Lloyd. He referred me to a technician he knows. This instrument has already taken me on an adventure and I will never forget the role Mr. Jack played in my journey. RIP Mr.Jack Goodson.

Last year, I sold Jack a 14 String Sierra I had. He said he'd meet me somewhere but it would take him some time to get because he'd have to stop. I told him I'd bring it to him. So I drove to his house from Texas. I've never met a friendlier couple than he and Martha. By the time I left, I was treated to lunch, a lot of talk and felt I had two new wonderful friends. I'm saddened deeply to hear of Jack's passing. May he rest in peace in God's presence until we meet again.
While we never met in person, I saw Jack's posts often. He joined the forum in 2005. His helpful insights will be missed here.
Jack's last login was about a month ago. My condolences to his friends and family.

WOW, I have been trying to get up with him and didn't think this would happen. Man I hate this, I sure did like ole Jack. He was a great guy.
