Huh. I placed an order right before I posted. My cart had some kind of error and it took a couple of tries to go thru (was taking 2 cents off when it went to PayPal and then causing an amount error) but it did finally go through after I re entered all my info a few times. I didn't have any problem applying the code, though. Maybe they have some kind of website problem.
