Show us your S-10 Zum!!
Please, no Encores or Stage Ones. Those are great guitars, but I’m wondering how many Pro-Grade Zum S10’s are out there. ( I know the quality of the Stage One and the Encore, but I hope we agree that they are a different design than the top-tier Zums.)
Thanks!!
Thanks!!

Ron, it’s a changer design that Bruce Zumsteg invented/patented to enhance the tone of his all-pull guitar. It incorporates some aspects of the Emmons Push-Pull changer to produce some sonic qualities of a Push Pull guitar. If you go to Google Patents Search and type in “Bruce Zumsteg†you can view the patent. It’s a brilliant design.

hmmm ok, i guess, i still dont have a clue what hybrid really means seems like that word has been used a lot since toyota came out with the Prius ..a thing made by combining two different elements ...Any substance that contains only one kind of an atom is known as an element. Because atoms cannot be created or destroyed in a chemical reaction, elements such as phosphorus (P4) or sulfur (S8) cannot be broken down into simpler substances by these reactions.
Example: Water decomposes into a mixture of hydrogen and oxygen when an electric current is passed through the liquid. Hydrogen and oxygen, on the other hand, cannot be decomposed into simpler substances. They are therefore the elementary, or simplest, chemical substances - elements.
Each element is represented by a unique symbol. The notation for each element can be found on the periodic table of elements.
The elements can be divided into three categories that have characteristic properties: metals, nonmetals, and semimetals. Most elements are metals, which are found on the left and toward the bottom of the periodic table. A handful of nonmetals are clustered in the upper right corner of the periodic table. The semimetals can be found along the dividing line between the metals and the nonmetals....is what i came up with on line

I also have a SD 10 Hybrid & love it. It has an all pull changer that tunes similar to a push pull. So it’s kind of a cross between an all pull & a push pull. I can’t speak for Bruce but it is just a clever product name referring to a biological cross & probably not meant to be taken so literally.

Yep, brilliant.
Based upon the stories of some of my engineering friends who hold patents Bruce had to believe in that design...patents are not cheap and they’re time consuming to obtain.

dlayne, that’s a pretty one!! Is that (what I call) a wine colored mica? If it is, it’s the same color as Doug Jernigan’s D10 I saw in 2006.

Re: Zum
Would you say it's color is close to a Merlot, or is it closer to a Cab?dlayne wrote:Marty it is a deep wine color, pictures don’t do it justice

Here’s my S-10 Zum. It’s not a Stage One or an Encore but a one of a kind Hybrid. However it is built using the same end plates.
It’s a special guitar for sure.
