Sho Bud Pro I "SOLD"

Post by John Reynolds »

I purchased this a while back here on the Forum and it is a great guitar that needs someone with talent to play it.. It plays smooth, stays in tune and sounds great but I lack the skills to play it like it deserves. I paid $2000 plus the shipping and would like to get that back, if not I'll just keep it. The person I got it from thought it might be a Duane Marrs rebuild, it is not Sho Bud mechanics and I found some pictures on the internet of some of his guitars, there was one that could be this one but who knows. My pictures seem a little red probably from lights, it is blond.. 515 250 2102

Does not look to me to be a Mars rebuild. He used round cross shafts. But whoever did it looks like he knew what he was doing.

Yeah that was built last month of 1975. Original double/single changer fingers in and looks like a TrueTone pickup in there(that's great). The whole pulling mechanics underneath are certainly "HomeMade"; looks to be fairly OK..but I would have to see much closer or move them to see if normal friction free for the long run. Pretty Blonde square front.

Ok thanks John for those pics in that link where you bought it. Yes that is a great system underneath; some of the stuff does look like Duane made it; but some doesn't, but nevertheless; that looks very good and I'm sure plays very good.

Thanks Ricky, I have a Pro II old round front 8x4 that I play at home and may never take out. My main instrument is Bass and I can embarrass myself just fine with that.

The only real expert is Jeff Suratt at Sho pro. There have been many guitars here on the forum that the sellers proclaimed to be Mars rebuilds.
