Emmons S/D LeGrande $2950

Post by Richard Teston »

Emmons S/D LeGrande #2454L 3/4 Bought several years ago and has been in the closet since then. As close to new as you can get I took it out and practiced on it twice.
Due to health I cannot play anymore this guitar has no scratches, comes in the original case like I purchase it.

Has that Emmons sound and ring to it. This guitar is beautiful and ready to go $2950.00 plus shipping to conus only. If your distance is in reason we could meet up

Those don't look like Emmons bell cranks to me. A couple of other things look different, too. Has this guitar been altered?

I noticed the bell cranks also. They aren't anything like my LeGrande II.

The bellcranks seem to be cut and mount like the 14 hole LeGrande Bellcranks.
I wonder if it was experimental or was made during the time that Emmons could not buy parts from their normal supplier due to financial problems.

Strange

That being said, this is still probably a great guitar as it is.

I don't see a control panel either. Very strange?

I have a very late model Legrande 11. According to Billy Knowles. Mine is one of the last ones made. This one has a later serial number than mine so it may very well be one of the last ones made. The way it was explained to me that on the last Ron was using any parts and cutting corners any way he could. For instance my pedal bar does not fit my case and Billy told me that Ron was making the cases as small as he could to save plywood. This may explain The untypical parts that are on this guitar. I think Jim Aycoth was involved with Emmons on the last. By the way mine has the 14 hole bell cranks and Billy Knowls went through it and did an amazing set up and knee lever addition for me. He is one of the last Emmons true guitar techs.

Never the less it should be a great sounding guitar. And it looks like new. I would love to have it. J.R.

Richard, I think it is a very, very nice clean steel. I would love to buy it but am over the hill and hitting bottom as another forum member says often. And I am one of these guys that disconnects the control panel. I all ways wanted just the sound of the pickup and amp. That's why they have all those knobs on the amp. Good Luck with your sale. J.R.
