Hi all,

On my Mullen G2, I would like to lower string 7 a whole step with a pedal, and raise it back up a half step with a lever. My steel has split screws. What is the best way to set this up?

Note: I already know how to use the set screw when lowering a half step and raising a whole step.

Thanks!

I don't know for sure about the Mullen G2, but I think most guitars work like this:
  1. Tune the half step raise
  2. Tune the full step lower with the split tuning screw
  3. Tune the half step combination with the lower tuning nut.
Somebody correct me if I'm wrong!

No no. Standard instructions for the tunable split:

-- Back off the split tuner.
-- Tune open.
-- Tune the Raise via the nylon raise tuner.
-- Tune the R+L Combination via the nylon lower tuner.
-- Tune the Lower, alone, via the split tuner.
.

It doesn't matter whether you tune the split or the final lower first. The end result is the same.

Yes, you do need to make sure there is enough clearance in both the lowering linkage and the "split" screw to reach the final lower note.
