Todd Clinesmith, are the Oregon fires near you?

Post by David DeLoach »

Todd, the Oregon fires look bad. I saw there was one near Idleyld Park.

I hope & pray they stay away from you, your home, and your shop. Let us know how you are doing.

No idea if Todd has internet access right now, or has even thought about visiting the SGF, so I will fill in with what I know.

According to Todd's wife Shelly on Facebook, the Clinesmiths are safe, but evacuated from their property a couple days ago.

She added: "I know the fire has been there, will not know what's left till we can get home. Guessing a few days."

Their property consists of a lot of acres, so hopefully the house and Todd's shop are safe.

I ordered a tone bar from Todd last week. He had it made over the long weekend and mailed it on the day they evacuated. That's what I call conscientious. I am sure the steel guitar community is sending their thoughts and hopes for the family and property.

Todd is one of the greatest, most giving people I know and to think that this may be affecting him and his family in such a drastic way is weighing heavily on mind. I did hear from him and they are safe, thankfully.

Puts one in mind of a luthier I know in Puna doing his best to dodge Pele's wrath. Stay safe Todd (and Chuck!)...

I’m not good at organizing online donations, but if Heaven forbid, this ends badly for the Clinesmith family...I say we all pitch in and help them out.

Todd started his own discussion, so I'm closing this one.
