If there is no raise on a string, where should the raise finger be? is it ok to screw it down against the body and tune that string from the key head? Strings 9 and 7 I'm looking at you |

John Hughey told me to have at least one touch the body if you can, that was years ago, I have done it on guitars that needed more edge and a tighter sound. _________________ '70 D10 Black fatback Emmons PP, Hilton VP, BJS bars, Boss GE-7 for Dobro effect, Zoom MS50G, Stereo Steel amp, Telonics 15” speaker.

You may certainly set those fingers against the body. Don’t over tighten them, just to where they touch the body. |

Thanks for the replies! I've tightened down the fingers where not used on a string. I don't notice a drastic difference but the gs-10 does sound a little more focused. the s-10 emmons I have seems to sound the same |

I would try it both ways and see what you think. |
