Several people have asked about the progress of this project guitar I bought https://bb.steelguitarforum.com/viewtopic.php?t=359116

so here are a couple of pics and some info. This guitar is assumed to be an early 70s Marlen. It weighed a "ton",,,solid 3/4" maple throughout,,was probably a pull release at one time. Neck was SOLID 3/4" metal (weighed 8+ lbs!!!). It now has wood neck and minus 4-5 inches in length. Pedal bar weighs almost 9 lbs!! Doing complete rebuild of mechanics underneath and new pedal bar. Will be 7/5,,maybe 6 levers,,maybe wrist lever.

Sonny; Having worked on probably a dozen '69-'75 Marlen's; I don't see anything that looks Marlen To me; and from previous post you put and I looked through the parts they had pictured. Everything looks homemade/done and looks like everything is very well made.

Thanks Ricky,,,I have NO idea,,just what I was told. I know it was built like a tank,,had probably been modified at least a couple of times in it's lifetime,,,weighed a ton and came with another ton of parts,,,LOL. The end plates have an attractive embossed design and the cabinet is the hardest maple I've ever seen,,almost like a burl.
