I will be playing dobro in a blue grass band after a sixty year layoff .
I will be playing a D 60 Gibson Dobro.Miked with a SM 57 Shure.
I need recommendations for the best set of strings to use.

Hard to beat d'addario EJ42 set. Pretty easy to find, have good tone and decent longevity.

Perhaps the Beard standard set as an alternative.

To help the forum, maybe one of the GHS Americana set from b0b's store: https://www.steelguitarshopper.com/acoustic/

Any of these will work just fine with a mic.

After never being fussy about the strings on my '81 OMI 60-DS, I installed a set of these John Pearse .016-.059 phosphor bronze strings a while back and they're the best-sounding strings that have ever been on the thing:

EJ42 D Addario. Easy to get. Reasonable price. Last well. Worked for Mike A.
