Pick-up ground wiring

The guitar is home built and has one pickup (tele-style) and an output jack (no pots). I know I have to ground this to the bridge. Can you advise how best to do this please?

Run a wire from the ground part of the output jack(the one that's not hooked up to the prong) to anywhere on the bridge.
