This is such great stuff. Everybody needs to visit Bob's site, and plan to spend some time there, listening to these wonderful tracks. Lots of great music, from Jazz fusion, to Country, to Blues / Rockabilly, to straight-ahead jazz, all showcasing Bob's incredible steel playing.

Thanks, Bob, for sharing this.

What a great site, Bob! Lots of inspirational stuff. I've already decided to add your "bossa nova" version of "Well, You Needn't" to the song list of my new jazz-rock band.

Thanks Jan!

I love playing Well You Need'nt. It is one of my favourite Monk tunes. I especially like doing the bridge with a 6/8 Afro-Cuban feel.

Hello Ferdinando,

Thank you for the kind words. I really enjoyed listening to your MySpace tracks. Excellent musicianship!

Hello Barry,

The Tuesday night gig at the Brickwall Inn in Liverpool with the Everglades brings back a lot of great memories. Tony, Bernie, Les and Stan are really good friends. It was my favourite country band in England! These guys really know how to play traditional country and swing.

I would love to contact them!

Do you know what these guys are doing lately?

Hi Bob
Yes they were great days.
Alas Stan died last year and Bernie has had a stroke. Les isn't playing anymore and Tony is in a little duo. The vibrant scene that we worked in, in those days, has all but disappeared.
It's the same pretty well everywhere in the UK now. I think it's a generational thing and that generation of players and audience is fast disappearing.
Tempus fugit etc.
All the Best

Hello Barry,

I am terribly sadden my Stan's passing. He was a great guitarist and person. I did not know Bernie has a stroke. He sends me a Christmas card every year with no return address.

If you see Bernie, Tony or Les, please ask them to contact me through my website (www.bobtaillefer.com).

I have not heard from them in years.

Take care my friend!

Bob

Hello Larry and Quentin,

Unfortunately, the site is no longer online.

Bob, thanks. I found the YouTube channel before you posted and enjoyed the heck out of it. My tablet has gotten a workout while mama watched tv. I can stay in the same room and watch my favorite players while keeping an earbud for sound. Keeps peace in the family and gets my steel guitar fix. What a life.
