Carter D10 for sale

Post by Bryan Staddon »

Hi! For sale is a Carter D10. This guitar is in extremely close to perfect shape, The only things I can see is a few very small indents on the top of the pedal rack. I purchased this last year in Nov. from a customer who came into the music store I work at as a guitar repairman. My boss was not interested as the customer wanted fair market price which wouldn’t allow the store to make any money and also we are in Western New York and this is the first steel that has walked in the door in 15 years. I purchased it myself as I felt it was a fair price and I have only ever played my steel which is a 76 Sho-Bud Pro II.

I wanted to see if all the new improvements in technology made a difference and of course they do. I liken it to driving a 64 Ford Falcon (my steel) as opposed to a new vehicle of any type (The Carter) It’s smooth and quiet in its operation and is good looking in a modern way. Oddly enough whenever I practice I keep playing the Bud. I like the Carter but it seems extravagant for me to have two steels. I do not know what year it was made but pictures of the numbers will allow the many specialists on this Forum to identify. It has 8 pedals and 5 knees and I would assume standard setup as it came from the Factory.
Included in this sale is The case in perfect condition and the black vinyl cover for the guitar and the leg and rod bag. Also a large amount of lesson materials which came with it from the previous owner.
Here is the list of lesson stuff
6 Buddy Emmons books all with CD included
Swinging by request
Basic C6
Goin’ out Swinging
We’re steel Swinging
Swinging our Way
It’s all in the Swing
3 Billy Cooper books
E9 country Vol II with Cd
Born to Lose study in chord theory with CD
Steel Together Buddy Charleton and Billy Cooper with CD

I don’t hang around the forum much but I am a member. I would prefer if you just call me if you have questions or want to talk about it. 716-418-4616
I’m just outside of Buffalo NY if you want to come get it or I can meet up to a reasonable distance.
I am asking For $1650.00 this is exactly what I paid for it.
I estimate shipping at $150.00 I will refund any difference.
It will be well packed and fully insured

Hi again, just realized when I joined the forum I was using the family email address, The wife is asking why all these new emails are pouring in! Yikes leftovers for me tonight!,
Here’s my email bryanstaddon@gmail.com
Here’s some answers to some of the questions I’m getting
It’s standard height. But I fit and I didn’t have to modify like I did to my Bud. I’m 6’2”
It’s black on top and grayish on the sides.
I didn’t do anything to it other than tune and play
I’ll post a picture of the front in a few minutes, sorry I missed that one.
Whoever just called from Indiana call me back if you want

I was trying really hard to justify buying another Carter d10

I need one with 4/2 changer fingers and one with 3/3's!
- keyless Sonny Jenkins laps stay in tune forever!; Carter PSG
- The secret sauce: polyester sweatpants to buff your picks, cheapo Presonus channel strip for preamp/EQ/compress/limiter, Diet Mountain Dew

Win Win

Post by Bryan Staddon »

Well if that’s the case then both myself and the gentleman who bought it both got good deals and I got to play a modern steel for awhile. I’m sure the good deal Karma will come back to me. I still have my Bud and more guitars than your average bear! It’s a win win!
