Hey Ron! You may want to go to the "members" link in the upper right hand of this page. Sort on "location" (I think)and look under Philippines, or Manila or other cities. It might give you a lead.
blah, blah, blah.

There are three of us pedal steelers with varying connections to the Dumaguete area. I live full time in Valencia, just outside of Dumaguete. Harry Johansen, from Norway, is married to a woman from around here. They have a house about 1/2 mile from me. They visit about every 18 months - hoping to visit comm June/July, but Corona virus might prevent that. Also Don Brown (there are at least two on the forum - this one is a member, but I don't think has ever posted) spends time regularly up in Tanjay about an hour North of Dumaguete. He's currently back in the US, and unable to return as well due to Corona. I play D-10, Harry plays Uni 12, and Don plays S-10.

Haro Echter is mostly a lap steel player up in Manila, but he recently acquired an ETS S-10 and is playing it regularly at blues gigs around Manila.

About 7 years ago I sold Mike Villegas my Stage One. Mike is a very well known musician from the rock scene in Manila from the 80's (?), and still plays, records, and runs a recording studio in Manila. I don't know if he still is using the Stage One.

There's a guy I've heard about up in Angeles - older than me - 70's? - who plays really well from what I've heard. My bandmate knows him - I can get contact info if you want it.
Pedal steel, lap steel, resonator, blues harp - why suck at just one instrument when you can do so on many?

Cris Bordon may still be playing a Williams in the Angeles City area.

There used to be a guy called Jayrick Sanchez, about the same age as me but I haven't heard anything of him for a while. Hope he's keeping well.

There was also a young lass, who was friends with him, who played steel too but I never got to know her name. Think she was called Mimi?
