Oh man not another Texas bud. This is so sad, he was such a great friend. Louie was a man of God for sure and had a heart as big as his home state of Texas. Prayers for Carolyn and family.

I first met Louie in 1976. He brought his steel guitar to our church and that was the first time I saw one up close. He has been a dear friend for over 40 years. RIP Louie Hallford, you have finished the race and our loss is heavens gain.

I'm sorry to hear this sad news. Louie was the first person to befriend me when I first started coming down to the Texas steel shows. He introduced me around, especially to Charlie Norris, and helped me get my first spot on the TSGA show. I've always felt indebted to Louie. He will be missed. RIP, my friend.

What a shocker, Louie and I were pretty good buds.
He has stayed with us 3 or 4 times, and jammed with him several times. I even shared my set at Baxter Springs with him.
I will miss him a lot.
My condolences to Carolyn and the family.
RIP ole Pal.

Louie would call every time he got close to the Austin area, and we'd get together and have a great lunch meeting. A good friend has crossed over. :(
My rig: Infinity and Telonics.

Son, we live in a world with walls, and those walls have to be guarded by men with steel guitars. Who's gonna do it? You? You, Lt. Weinberg?

So sorry to hear about Louie. He was such a big help to the SSSGC. The last time I talked to him, he and Carolyn were going to stop by and take me out to lunch. My prayers go out to the family but this isn't good-bye but we'll see you later. Our loss but Heaven's gain!! RIP Louie

Hate to hear about this. Louie was a great guy. I haven't seen him in several years but I always did enjoy visiting with him at the various regional steel guitar shows.

Louie was an outstanding guy.
One time he brought his guitar to the
shop for some repairs.
We talked,laughed, fixed his guitar
and had a great time.
Louie was very appreciative and,
so was I.
Wish more people were like him.
See you in Heaven Louie.
Until then, Rest In Peace.
