The 2 above the serial number denotes this as a "factory second" which means the final inspector did not like something about the fit or finish. Still a cool looking mid seventies example.

Is that a crack on the E side of the peghead? Has any repair been attempted?

Is not a crack. Appears 3 pieces of wood formed the neck. Guitar is in immaculate condition. He bought it somewhere around 1977 and never learned to play. Has spent 90% of the last 40 years in the case
