Thanks for posting this. I have heard Lloyd tell the story before. However, I did not know they had only 10 minutes left of the session. He stated he had a 6 PM and 10 PM session that evening as well. Farewell Party was recorded in one cut which shows the talent level of those musicians. Lloyd tells how the engineer called him after adding the reverb which made it sound even better. It turned out to be Gene Watsons biggest hit and he even named his band after the song. I have heard a couple other versions which are fantastic but Lloyds guitar on Farewell Party made me turn the radio up every time it came on.
