1 space rack mount amp??

Post by Ben Godard »

I am looking for a 1 space stereo power amp that good for steel guitar. Also is there any 1 Space effects units out there now that has its own preamp such as the peavey profex series. I am going to a rack system but I wanna go light as possible with no more than 3 spaces

Thanks

Ben, I've used this with great success. I think it weighs about 8 lbs. 150watts per channel. Hummingbird music used one in a rack system paired up with an Evans preamp, and a TC M-one XL effects unit, sounded great!

David -- any feelings about the fan noise on that Monoprice power amp? I'm looking for something like this for a home rehearsal/recording studio specifically to replace a Peavey Classic 50/50 power amp with a loud fan. I see some user comments on the Monoprice page about fan noise.

Ben, if you can find a Mosvalve 982 or a Mesa Boogie 20/20 works well with a Tubefex or a Strymon El Capistan .

Yes. I think I will go with Mesa boogie 20/20 if I can find one. I still have my old tubefex too. That will be only 2 spaces. Can I use a two space rack or should I get a three space to allow for ventilation. My rack system will be on the floor upright btw
