In an old Steel Guitarist mag issue (1981?), there's a picture of Paul Franklin playing just the top of an old 10-string Sho-Bud on the tour bus. In the article he said he used it for practicing right/left hand technique while on board. Maybe this should be called a "bus steel" instead of a "lap steel".
