My Fender Steel King amp has a hum, even with nothing plugged into it, so it is the amp itself and not cable or single coil hum. The 'mute' button kills the hum. Hum gets louder with with higher master volume, unaffected by higher gain. My tube amps plugged into the same outlet do not hum. Is there a common fix, or do they all do that?? I would expect solid state to be almost dead quiet..... |

Mine is dead quiet. SS shouldn't have the hum which indicates a problem when not muted. |

Possibly your reverb connections. Try turning off your reverb and see if it stops. |

Turned the reverb down/off, and even unplugged it. No difference. Tried a different power cord. No help. |

Try plugging it in to a different circuit, not just a different outlet.
Be careful that your amp is not in the influence of or plugged into the same circuit of a florescent light |

I had one with the same problem. It was a crack in the circuit board but it took the tech forever to find it because it was concealed by something on top of it. |
