Quick question; what is meant by an “invoice guitar”? Does that just mean you are the original owner?

Chris - the early Emmons guitar’s were given serial numbers related to their sales invoice numbers. These numbers are generally in the 2000s. In ‘67 they began using the “D” (on double neck guitars) preceded by a serial number that was issued sequentially. I believe they began this series with 1000 D. I have 1066 D - so one can assume this was the 66th guitar made with the new system. Whereas the white guitar in the picture is 2767 - no “D” which makes it an invoice guitar, which were not necessarily made in sequential order... Hope that’s clear enough. Others may explain it better...
Mostly Pre-1970 guitars.

Emmons Black Rock

Post by Jerry Van Hoose »

Here’s my Emmons Black Rock, 3 & 4. It’s nearly 45 yrs. old, completely reconditioned/restored by Lynn Stafford. It's adjusted perfectly, plays like a dream and definitely has the signature PP tone. Pedalboard is maple, covered on all 4 sides w/mica. Silver & black pedalboard sticker custom made at a local graphics shop.

I was lucky enough to grab this super clean, one owner, unrestored ‘66 last week. 4 factory levers, brown belly. The pickups were replaced at some point and have the wide white band. Does anybody know what years Emmons did that? It was also setup by Bryan Adams. It’s gotta be one of the best playing p/p’s I’ve ever seen. i can’t wait to get a little time to spend getting familiar with the guitar.

This is my 1975 Push Pull. It's the same one that Tyler Hall posted on about page 1. Ronald Sikes also owned it, along with some others.

Ron Bryson from the forum polished out the pedals and levers and gave it a good cleaning and adjusting. (Thanks Mr. Ron!!).

The only Push Pull I've owned, but to ME, it's the best sounding steel I've had.

Not sure how that boot got in the picture, hehe.[/img]
