I don't believe so, but someone more knowledgeable (like Ricky Davis) might know better. However, according to what I can find, that serial number (5237) dates to March, 1974.

Hope that helps

If I remember correctly, Ricky has written that the green flocking was used only in 1973. A very good year for Sho-Bud.

It was used later than 73. My 74 Pro 1 has the green undercoating.

My Feb. 18, '74 LDG has the green as well.. and while it's BRIGHT green under the pad, it's faded to that same beautiful tobacco color! Very Happy
Mine is 5032, and was dated by Gene Haugh... hope this helps..

Sho bud didn't prep one body at a a time.. As with any company, they most likely did large batches.. There might have been dozens or even hundreds of those bodies sprayed underneath, waiting for final finish/assembly.. A number of bodies that were sprayed underneath in 1973 with that distinctive green flocking might have sat a full year or even longer, waiting to be ordered, and finished.. I have seen a LOT of Buds that were that light green underneath, and they were not all 1973 models... bob

The emerald Green Tint was added to the bucket of white spray texture ONLY during the first year of the LDG.
The first LDG was May 1973....so one year later is May 1974....therefore ANY Sho~bud(yes including any single-10 or pro II or professional) built BETWEEN May 1973 to May 1974, "MOST-LIKELY" had this green tint to the spray texture added underneath.

No Prob Dave; thank you and love to see yours.
There are a few exceptions to that green tint as pictured below. The first one is Lloyd Green's of course and his has white texture. Mine is second one made and you can see still has white texture. I haven't seen the few more made that May 1973; but heard they didn't start adding the green to the white texture until june...but no proof on that; just what I heard.
Lloyd had a few things changed under on the pulling and a shorter keyhead was made. Mine is original barrel tuning.
Here's Lloyd's underneath>

Here is my underneath>

Here is Lloyd's>

Here's mine(second one made) and the great matching green tolex cabinets that Rick Johnson made for Lloyd and myself>
