Stage One S10 help

Post by Larry Dering »

I have trouble getting the ball end of my strings under the finger of a Stage One S10. Anyone have a good method to share? It takes me much longer than any other pedal steel I own.

Maybe bend the string just a bit on the knot at the end.

It doesn't take much, just the curvature of your finger, and there's enough material there to hold the shape, which makes a little curve that slips into the small space without the ball getting in the way.

Worked for me anyway. 8)

I did try it. Didn't care for the taste. It helps but I think there must be a better way. Maybe Doug will answer this. I sent him a email.

Doug gave me the simple answer. Slight bend and repetition. He has done so many it's easier for him. Thanks Doug. I was just worried an on stage string break would be a big deal since I was having trouble in good lighting. Fortunately I haven't had that happen. Love the guitar.
