RIP Jimmy Queen

Post by Bill Ferguson »

I just received word from Bobby Regot that our long time friend and ISGC drummer, Jimmy Queen passed away last night.

Jimmy has had some major health issues for quite some time now.

Please be in prayer for Starla and the family.

This is very sad. Everybody who ever attended one of Scotty's conventions heard Jimmy play, and many of us befriended him.

From the St. Louis conventions, I have great memories of Jimmy Queen's performances and antics. Such a great musician and a hilarious sense of humor.

We've lost so many from the convention and now another one is gone.

Condolences to Starla and Jimmy's family and friends.

The entire Scott family is feeling the loss of Jimmy. He was a great part of the ISGC for many, many years. I have personally known Jimmy since we were teenagers and have always thought he was the most talented musician EVER. He could play several instruments with ease, he was funny and could harmonize with anyone. Such natural talent is rarely seen and I have never known another person who had the amount of talent that Jimmy had. Starla, I know your pain and my prayers are with you. RIP Jimmy Queen.

By any chance was he related to steel guitarist Geoff Queen who plays for Hayes Carll? Saw them last night on Austin City Limits.RP
