Interest in Vinyl Steel Guitar LP's?
I've reached the point in life where downsizing/uncluttering has great appeal. My son who is into Vinyl LP's has said he would like to have the 200-300 album's in my "collection". It's understood as part of a young couple with two careers, buying a first home, etc. they may sit in boxes a long time before he gets to them. Unwanted ones could be sold to a retailer of used vinyl in Lawrence,KS, sold on e-bay, or donated to the local Public Radio annual fund raising music sale. Or he could put them on a coffee can, heat 'em up and make snack bowls out of them. Won't matter to me.
HOWEVER. I did own a pedal steel and attempt to make "musical" sounds on it with a couple of country bands in the 1970's. Got to see many of the great steel players of that era live. Made it to Scotty's convention in 1976 and 1977. I have been lurking on this forum for years and even posted a couple times. Long-winded old geezer ain't I.!!!
The point is, I will pull out the steel guitar albums I have and make them available to forum members, if there is any interest. I'm thinking in the range of $5.00 per album plus the cost of supplies and postage. Planning to use shipping boxes from Accoustc Sounds, a major online vinyl retailer. (They also have a large vinyl pressing plant).
What I have.
8 Buddy Emmons LPs
8 various other steel guitar LPs. (Doug Jernigan, Julian Thorpe, Speedy West, The Starday album, and some others
I also have all five volumes of the "Moods of Maurice Anderson"
If there is interest in old vinyl please post. If the response is positive I will do a formal "for sale" in the next couple of weeks. NOT taking "orders" at this time.

Vinyl LPs
Sorry, Ed. There doesn't seem to be much interest anymore in vinyl LPs. I have tried to sell some of the 2000 I have but
haven't sold any. I gave Buddy Emmon's black album away and some of Gabby's Hawaiian LPs. I have lots of C&W, Steel guitar, Jerry Byrd, Santo & Johnny, Big Band, Hawaiian etc etc. Every one in top condition.
Good Luck'

Collection dates from about 1950 to about the end of the vinyl era.[/img]

I had about 200 various albums inc virtually every steel album ever made. I tried for a long time to sell the entire package for $200 with no success, not even a bite.
I wound up giving the whole lot of them to a friend that is into vinyl recordings. He is the son of a steel player and loves the steel guitar. So at least I know they will be listened to and not just go into storage.
Pretty much had the same results with my CD collection. Everyone wants all their music on a memory stick, regardless of the compressed sound.
The days of physical music collections are gone forever I am afraid.

List of records
Sorry, Scott. I don't have a list yet and probably will take a long time with 2000 LPs. Do you have anything special you're looking for?
