Steel Guitar Film: New Material on Website

Post by Marty Muse »

Just wanted to let everyone here on the Forum know that we have updated our website and there is a newly edited preview piece entitled "Hawaii Calls" up for viewing. There is also additional content added to the site throughout. Also, as a bonus to the folks that have signed our mailing list there are a few little snippets of the late, great Buddy Emmons sharing some stories that might be of some interest to Forumites. (If you haven't joined yet you can sign up for the mailing list on the website and get the password to view the Emmons clips) I hope you enjoy! Let us know what you think and stay tuned for more news.

Here is web address: www.steelguitarmovie.com

Thanks,

Marty,
I signed up for the mailing list but didn't receive the password. Is there a step I missed? Thanks!

No, Will, you didn't miss a step. I probably posted this a bit prematurely. The email to the mailing list has not gone out yet but will very soon. So if you signed up for the list, either today or last year, you will get all of the info in the mailout. Sorry about any confusion.

Marty - Thanks. The Hawaiian portion is excellent. Looking forward to the film. A story that needed to be told.

To the "Men of Steel Team" Marty Muse and Jeff Himpele: Just watched the Emmons' interviews. Incredible! I know I will be purchasing multiple copies of your film as presents and to support your project. Thanks very much. (In the Mooney interview Ralph refers to Emmons as "The Bud.")

Here's the Skeeter Davis side w/ Jimmy Day that Buddy refers to in his interview:

Thanks for your support Robert. It has been a long bumpy road and we still have a ways to go to the finish line but just knowing there are people out there that are into the project helps a great deal. Yeah, I've watched the interview with Buddy many times and wish I could go back and do it again. There is so much I didn't ask him. But, c'est la vie, we got what we got and a lot of it is pretty cool. Stay tuned...

Great stuff! Looking forward to the actual doc. Unadulterated, Emmons runs it down, and the Hawaiian section was also real good. Good work Marty.

Hey Marty, I hope you are well. I just saw another post by you today and it made me think about this project, just wondering if it is still progressing. Any chance for a status update? Thanks!
