Which pedal steel guitar seat do you own?
If you succeed in cheating someone, don't think that the person is a fool. It's just that the person trusted you far more than you deserved.

I still use a vintage ACE seat that's older than our adult children.

There are only two options as I see it.
Either I'm right, or there is a sinister conspiracy to conceal the fact that I'm right.
Williams Keyless S-10, BMI S-10, Evans FET-500LV, Fender Steel King, 2 Roland Cube 80XL's,
Sarno FreeLoader, Goodrich Passive Volume Pedals, Vintage ACE Pack-A-Seat

Which seat do you own?
I bought a Scott Dixon "Flying Dixon" a few years ago here on the forum and love it. It's pressed, faceted aluminum so it's light weight, compact but really rugged. Everyone calls it my bait bucket. After I fill it with all my stuff, it's not so light-weight anymore but at least I know I've always got just about anything I might need.

steel seat
I use a steeler's choice at my Emmons and a keyboard folding seat at my Wilcox. Both work great.

My steel seat was made by Rick Trowyer's Father(Humming Bird Music, Sugar Creek OH.) It was a gift from my girl friend.
I have done a lot of customizing on it. It had Brown upholstery, Played a white MSA at the time, Re- Upholstered it Black, Shortened legs to fit me and my guitar. Thinned the foam padding on the back rest. Now fits great and looks great behind my Black GFI.

I have two of Dan's Steelers Choice Sidekicks which are just awesome !! love the matching colours for my two Zum's too :-}
Also have one of Joe's "lite" seats which I only use when I fly to gigs - fits in the overhead pretty well.

Yep. Our little kids were born in the 1980s. I've had the seat reupholstered once.Brint Hannay wrote:I don't know how old your adult children are, but my seat is an ACE from sometime in the Eighties.Lee Baucum wrote:I still use a vintage ACE seat that's older than our adult children.

Back in the beginning when I was playing around the apartment, I used to sit on my amp. Even then, I recognized the need for a correct height seat. One day, I went down to the basement and decided I wasn't coming up until I had made something. The result was a 3-legged stool with a vinyl covered foam seat. It's lightweight, and just the right height for me. Now, I use it at gigs and haven't seen any reason to get anything else.
