50 Pound (and Under) Steel Guitars?

I know this has been discussed before, but I can't seem to find the past threads. Plus, maybe we're due for an update anyhow...

I'd love to see a list of guitars that come in at or under fifty pounds in their case. (That is, without having to pack legs and the pedalbar in a separate suitcase.)

Fire away. I'd love to see as complete a list as possible.

I don't have a complete list, but I do own a Justice Pro Lite and a Desert Rose S-10, excellent guitars that are less than 50 pounds. I think a Carter S-10 would make the list too.

My On-Trak S10 3x4 is 22.2 (guitar only) and 34.4 lbs in the case.

I have a Williams S 12 uni,,,7 pedals, 5 knees,,,,an even 40 lbs in a Brand X light weight case.

FWIW,,,I would not hesitate to ship this guitar in this Brandx case. I feel it would be as protected as in a hard case, if the case were properly packed. I would pack it no differently than the hard cases I've shipped.

My D10 Marlen is 39lbs in a BrandX case.

You don't really need legs and a pedal bar do you??

Emmons S10 push pull with alloy legs in a SKB trap case is 48 lbs.

The S10~3x4 which is a pro guitar. @ 39 lbs. in case

The S10~Pro @ 39 lbs. in case (This one is a Lefty"

This 2015 Excel is 21 lbs, the case is 12 lbs...

I will update the table with the info provided here. I encourage any and all to post the weight of their guitars, preferably both in and out of the case, in the linked thread. We can keep that one as a running thread on the topic. I think guitar weight is more important than "in the case" weight for the simple reason that cases can vary greatly depending on how much protection you need. I play an MSA Millennium in part due to the low weight. These come with a very heavy road case - so in the case is about the same as many other guitar. But shipping them in this case is so much more stress-free! And I built a light-weight case for mine that I can use to carry it to gigs, fly, etc.

Edit: My table is for guitar weight only (I'd forgotten), but again, feel this is the important number.

My Fessy SD10 4x7 with the lightweight legs on a SKB trap case clocks in at 48 pounds...

I can get either my Millennium D10 or my Franklin D10 into an SKB Wheel-EZE type case - without the legs and pedal rack - and come in at 47-49 lbs. So I put my legs/rack into a second one which also serves as my suitcase, holding my clothes, CDs, volume pedal, cords, etc.

You obviously travel with a personal valet for your hats as well, right?

For a fully loaded Pro guitar, you probably wont get any lighter than a new Excel. Especially in the S-12 format.
