Fender 1000 Pedal Steel Guitar "Johnny"

I was wondering if someone out there might be able to tell me who tell me who the original owner of this Fender 1000 Pedal Steel Guitar was.

The insert in the middle comes in and out, and was professionally made for "Johnny". The guitar is still in new condition, , serial #58.

I had been looking for the original "Johnny" of this guitar just to meet him if he was still around. But I guess it's a Johnny-Come-Lately. I haven't been able to come up with anyone with that name who might have been the original owner. Granted, it has been a number of years, and it was a long shot, but sometimes long shots pay off!

I don't know when the "fluff" was added, and if it was added by the original purchaser. But as the guitar is about 60 years old, the original owner would likely be around 85-95 years old, if he was still around. I distinctly remember seeing a front-shot of the same guitar here on the forum many years ago.

Thanks for the reply, Donny. That at least gives me something to go on. I'll try to search and see if I can find that post. I picked up the Fender 1000 and another pedal steel from the owner of the Grizzly Rose in Denver about 10 years ago. He was a collector, and had them out on display, but wanted to get rid of them. I was playing there in a steel show and couldn't pass them up. Here's a pic of the Fender 2000 I got along with the 1000. This guitar does have a few minor dings.

A lot of pedals on both guitars, that's for sure!

Hey Gary - I remember seeing that 2000 at the Denver Steel Show. Have you contacted the owner of the Grizzly Rose to see if he might know who the 1000 belonged to?

Hi, Tim. Great to hear from you. It's been years since we've ran across each other. That's a great idea, one which I should have had myself.
I don't remember his name, and I'm not sure that the same guy even still owns the Grizzly Rose. But I'll look into it, and see what I can find out.
