SUITE STEEL Reissue

Post by Daniel Morris »

Due out May 4, the SUITE STEEL album will see its first CD release.
As the number of vinyl copies seems to shrink and the price rises, this will be a welcome re-release.

Wouldn't it be a total treat if there were
any 'Previously Unreleased 'Bonus' Tracks'?!

I don't know, Marco - there was only one album titled SUITE STEEL, from 1970, and I don't know as Tom re-released it. I'm only aware of the Elektra label's issue.

That's the one, Ray.
As I say, I was only aware of the Elektra release.
It would've made sense for Tom to have it in his series.

My mistake . . sorry . . I hadn't realized
Elektra (or whoever owns the rights) had
leased Suite Steel out to distribute it
via cassette format.

Absolutely can’t lose purchase for any steeler of any musical taste. From Rusty Young’s tasty C6 on “Down on the Corner” to the incredibly sensitive Emmons/ Kleinow interplay on “Yesterday “, one of the best steel recordings ever. As I’ve often mentioned, Emmon’s take on “Wichita Lineman” is what made me buy a steel the day I first heard it. Delicious.
