My condolences. Just from your brief bio: what an incredible man and a life well lived.
A banjo, like a pet monkey, seems like a good idea at first.

Thanks for all the supportive comments. Funeral's over, time to reflect and, ultimately, move on.

Jeff - my branch of the Mudgetts and my grandfather (dad's father) were from around Center Sandwich, NH - he was born and raised there. Lots of Mudgetts up your way. Growing up in Boston, I spent quite a bit of time up around Winnipesaukee, I love it up there.

He definitely had a full and rich life. It has been hard to watch him go down the last few years, but I believe he's in a better place now.

Small world, Dave. Yes, lots of Mudgetts around here. Gary worked for the State DPW for years and we've teamed up on several landscaping projects around town. Wish I had a video of him standing in the fully raised bucket of my frontloader on a steep hillside while we trimmed a wall of evergreens. OSHA would have given us a Darwin Award :) Best Regards - Jeff

I lost my Dad in 2009...he was the same WWII generation as your Dad. I think of him often and smile a lot. He was always supportive of whatever I wanted to do and taught me a great deal. He had a great sense of humor and I was fortunate enough to spend the last few years of his life with him after I retired from the service.
