Sierra S10 pedal steel 3X3 pretty nice SOLD PLEASE CLOSE

Taking the price down from $1650 to $1350 PLUS 1/2 shipping (I'll split the shipping costs to keep things reasonable) to see if that makes it more affordable. Here's an older Sierra pedal steel S10. Not sure how old, there is a four digit number stamped on the underside that's not easy to read, maybe there's a two letters in front of that (not scratched out, just a bit blurry from the stamping). One forum member suggested it is a Timber Wolf model from the late 1970s, could be, the two letters are illegible but it's possible they are TW. Very nice shape overall. There are some scratches, notably on the aluminum sides where the leg brackets are (because those are somewhat loose when the legs are not attached, it is possible for them to rotate which causes the arc scratches, maybe those could be buffed out), but the black finish looks very good. The pickup works properly. Has Grover "bulls-eye" backed rotomatic tuners. I got this from an older woman who had been a lap steel player, she got this a long time ago (used) but never got very far with it so I wound up buying when she downsized. It is currently in E9 tuning. Three pedals, three knee levers. Decent case although there's some masking tape along one edge so I'm guessing the covering must be loose underneath. I have more pics if there's something specifc you need to see. I'm not a PSG player so you might have to bear with my somewhat limited understanding of the parts, etc. Due to the weight of the steel (about 56 lbs in the case, before packing) shipping will be likely around $100 for east coast, more like $65 for out West. Due to the upcoming holidays there might be a slight delay in getting this out but I'll work that out with the buyer. You can PM, probably easiest way to communicate.

Those letters probably are TW as there was a Timberwolf model in the store where I bought my (long gone) Sierra U12 in 1981. It was a 3x3 in wood grain mica.
A solid, precise, very well built instrument at a good price. Does it have the slide in pickup?

I'm pretty sure the pickup is a slide-in as another member commented on that. I didn't get any of the extra pickups when I got it. Rosewood mica was I think stock but I've seen black ones like mine before.

I've got a black D-10 that looks a lot like this one.

I'm pretty sure a knee lever or two could be added too. just talk to Jim Palenscar who sells all Sierra's parts.

I've had three Sierra's, currently own a Crown D-10. They are awesome, hands down top quality. Also, a bunch more pedals/knees can be added, as these guitars are pre-drilled to accommodate a full load.

My similar S-10, that I owned in '83, Looked identical except it was white, and was a 5/4 setup. Wish I could've kept them all...

John, do the legs fold up and stay on the guitar when you put it in the case?

No. They detach from brackets and go in a bag.

The Sierra legs are designed to swing closed when after the lock button is pulled outward. They should not neeed to be removed fom the body unless the lock buttons are seized up.

Tony Glassman's post is correct, there is a button which when pulled out releases the bracket allowing the legs to swing. Sorry I didn't notice that before, would have saved a lot of time. That also explains the arc scratches on the sides.

You loosen the black knobs and push the button. When you fold them back you tighten the black knob back.
The case is wider to accommodate the width of the legs still being attached.
