Strange,,never found an obituary in the San Antonio newspaper,,,,,also never saw one for Randy Reinhart. Is it a matter of family choice to have an obit? I thought it was like a public notice?

No it is not....when you go to a funeral home to make arrangements for a loved one you are asked if you wish to have an obituary in the local paper. It's paid for by the family and the total cost depends on the number of days the obit runs.

Godspeed Mr. Goodman.

Sorry for your loss Ken.

Obits these days cost money and take time to assemble. Among the many issues families deal with the loss of a loved one, it's another difficult bridge to cross. Not only is the money the issue it's also the agreement among the family what and how things should be said, photos to decide to use to best represent the departed and how it is wished they are remembered.

Not many are prepared and are caught off guard in this respect to have an obit pop up as fast as the passing of the family member.

Many times it will come after the funeral.

So sorry and sad to hear this news. Dave was a good pal, and I loved seeing him at steel shows and club meetings just to chat. RIP, buddy.
My rig: Infinity and Telonics.

Son, we live in a world with walls, and those walls have to be guarded by men with steel guitars. Who's gonna do it? You? You, Lt. Weinberg?

Rest in peace, Commander. I was lucky while living in San Antonio to play and see a few gigs with Dave and some of you guys (Ken, Thomas, Conrad and Ryan Goeth, Terry Haslett, et al) at the American Legions off of Gunsmoke and Pinn Rd. The steel jamborees were a blast and you're right Mark, whenever Dave showed up it kicked things up a notch.
