Alabama show/Dothan al. VFW/may 21st/featuring mike Johnson

The VFW in Dothan al. Will be hosting the annual steel guitar show on May 21st starting at 12/pm. Mr. Bill cook, president of the club will be presenting the annual Alabama steel guitar hall of fame awards. We will have 10/players (list will be added in a few days). Also details of including admission price, food, etc will be added....thanks jack

Shorty, that is great, it was good talking with you. Just wanted to add the address of the vfw....post 3073....1426 Taylor road....Dothan, Alabama. Admission at the door is....$10.00....which includes a barbecue plate. I will be adding the player list in a couple of days....thanks jack

Just want to let everyone know that mr. Mike Johnson and his wife Joanie will be there. Most everyone on the forum knows who mike is, mike has been there there and done that in the steel guitar world. Also will have Gordon Dodson,Thomas roughton, JG O'rafferty, don lynch, Jimmie Miller, shorty smith, buster Watson, mike Taylor, Ricky cottle, and myself. Admission at the door will be 10.00 which includes a barbecue plate....thanks jack

I sure wish I had a little more notice on this one. I would have surely been there, if nothing else but to see my pal and old ASGA bossman. hehe

Sure wish I could be there for this show, but I've already made arrangements to be at the show in South Carolina--it's always on the third Sunday in May. Best wishes to all my friends on a great show, and I will miss you!

Ole red was great as well as Mike and Joanie. It was great to get Mike to do several encores for us. Thanks Joanie for doing my 2 favorite Emmy Lou songs. All of the other players was great also. And to get to see Mr. Bill Cook (a class act ) inducted into the Hall of fame was awesome! I can't wait for next year.

I agree with lavon, it was way past being awesome, I have not had time at this point to say when the next show will be, but I know where it will be. Will be at the Dothan civic center (hosted by the Dothan vfw....thanks jack
