Pete Finney provided this photo of Lloyd Green and Billy Sanford at the Family Wash in Nashville 3/1/17.
Russ Pahl: gtr / Dennis Crouch: ac bs / Dan Auerbach (Black Keys): vcls & gtr / Billy Sanford: gtr / Lloyd Green: stl gtr / not pictured: Jerry Roe: drms
By all accounts this was a very successful date. The house was packed and hopefully this will evolve into a regular event. Hats off to Lloyd and Billy and the band and Russ Pahl for putting it together.
Here also is Billy Sanford's 11/17/17 interview at the Country Music Hall of Fame as a part of the ongoing "Nashville Cats" program honoring Nashville's session musicians.

Oh Wow! Good for Lloyd. That would be worth a trip to Nashville for me to see this group. In what part of town is the Family Wash?
Never mind, I found the info online. Main St. in East Nashville. |

big thank you to Russ for putting this together... I hear that place was packed, and the show was great... I couldn't make it, but hopefully this will become a regular gig, and I will have another chance to see Lloyd play... this is not your every day lower Broadway, Nashville BS, but the real deal ... _________________ www.steelguitarsonline.com |

Glad to hear that they had a full house. I'd still like to hear a report from someone who was actually there...
Lloyd has always been one of my favorite players. |

I'm sure we'd all like to read a report from someone who was actually there, but they would obviously have to be 1. a SGF member and 2. see this thread to be able to post about it.
One would think that somebody from the SGF who checks in fairly regularly was in attendance, but it's possible that no members were.
Lloyd isn't a member, and neither as far as I can tell is Russ Pahl.
I checked out The Family Wash online, looks like a place I'd like to visit on my next trip to Nashville, but it doesn't appear to be very large inside when set up for music evenings. Hence my comment that it's possible none of our members were even there that night. _________________ Mark |

I have a couple of short videos also, but not sure the best place to post them for forum members to see.
*EDIT* --- Here are the links to the clips on youtube. Sorry for the poor iphone quality.
"Touch My Heart" - https://youtu.be/4nyBYU89L7o
"If I'm Gonna Sink (I Might As Well Go To The Bottom)" - https://youtu.be/FyKwW1genHs
Dan Auerbach song - https://youtu.be/zsv3t6OArhM
Lloyd was playing his green LDG through a Telonics amp, and both sounded great. His touch is still unmatched. |

So, yeah ... that's Russ Paul (session player extraordinaire) on rhythm, Dennis Crouch (arguably the most important session bass player in the world right now) on bass, Jerry Roe (#1 on-call session drummer in Nashville) on "drum," guitar legend Bill Sanford on lead, the incomparable Logan Ledger on vocals, and my dad (Lloyd Green) on steel. You could visit a thousand bars in a thousand cities and never see this level of talent on the same stage. Rarely even in the same studio. So simple, so authentic, so well executed! |

Which ones were executed? I didn't read that in the paper. |
