Rent pedal steel in Nashville?

Post by Peter Andersson »

Hi! Looking to rent a pedal steel May 16-21 in Nashville (we're playing at Nashville Boogie). Looking for a Shobud or Emmons d-10 (Emmons setup).

Thanks!

This morning our bass player just sent us a link to a band video, and said "check this out - a Swedish steel clinic".

I web-stalked the steel player, and here you are!

The band is Harmonica Sam, and you guys sound great.
Please somebody in Nashville, loan Peter your steel.

Hey Peter, I checked the video listed on the last post and then watched a couple of others of yours on YouTube and all I can say "If you guys ain't country, then nobody is"... that's some of the best classic country I've ever seen or heard... I'm a fan of yours now for sure and hope to be able to see and hear you live sometime in the future. I think I noticed a couple of different ShoBud D-10 guitars in the videos. How many do you have and was it hard getting them over there?.......JH in Va.
Don't matter who's in Austin (or anywhere else) Ralph Mooney is still the king!!!

You might contact Bob Hempker at http://www.steelguitarsofnashville.com/

He might have a guitar you could rent for you time in Nashville.

Good luck finding something. Your band sounds good!

Thanks Jerry & Larry! Yeah I’m a big Sho-Bud fan and I have a Permanent, Professional & ProII (and one Fingertip in parts that hopefully will make it to Sweden one day). No problem getting them over thanks to Ricky Davis!

You guys sound great. I am local so I'll try to make it out to see you when you are in town.
Looks like it's going to be a big time at the festival. http://www.nashvilleboogie.com/

Peter - Wow, great playing man! So fun listening to you.

About the Boogie - good gosh that's a bunch of musical acts.

Looking at that lineup I'd be surprised if there weren't a handful of steel guitars going to be there. Have you reached out to some of the other combos to see if someone might let you play one of theirs?

Just a thought. Again, great playing!

Excellent! I enjoyed seeing all those 'retro' instruments, too.

I'm sure Bob Hempker of SGN will have some ideas.

Great playing!

I love the outfits. Have asked my wife to emboider a shirt for me. A pedal steel player needs a nice outfit to play his best.

Renting steel in Nashville

Post by Leo Melanson »

A second vote for Steel Guitars of Nashville .. I was able to rent a guitar, amp and pedal from them last Summer for a small gig. This may be limited to what they have available. Worth a call to them.

I dealt with Peter in Austin and he is a great guy. He took perfect care of my steel and made everything easy.

Rent/loan him a steel with no worries.

I have an Emmons Lashley LeGrande D-10 for rent in Nashville. It's the blue one used from time to time on the TV show "Nashville".

Peter is using it for the Nashville Boogie event, I think he will enjoy it.
