I'll be on Austin City Limits Tomorrow (Jan 21)

Post by Geoff Queen »

I'm excited and honored to be playing on the show with singer-songwriter Hayes Carll. It was a lot of fun to tape, and Hayes gave me lots of space to play. In fact, part of the show is a trio of Hayes, myself on steel, and a really interesting percussionist. I believe Margo Price is the other half of the show and she uses steel in her band as well.

Check your PBS listings, it varies by station
2 pedal steels, a lapStrat, and an 8-string Dobro (and 3 ukes)
More amps than guitars, and not many effects

Geoff is a very cool player and a very cool friend. He gets the hip gigs around Austin. Check out the vid with Hayes Carll.
My rig: Infinity and Telonics.

Son, we live in a world with walls, and those walls have to be guarded by men with steel guitars. Who's gonna do it? You? You, Lt. Weinberg?

Geoff is one of my fave players! He plays all the right stuff in all the right places, with great tone and intonation.

He's an ok guy too

Tommy:Judging by those comments coming from you, this guy must be one helluva' player. The stuff you played on the c.d. with Doug Sahm puts you in the monster category. Tommy......

Thanks for the heads up. It airs here at 11:00 pm. I'll be watching if I'm around the house. Two acts with steel guitars...what's not to like?

Yes, Luke is the steel player with Margo. I was lucky enough to attend the Margo Price taping back in October. Luke did a great job.

Looking forward to watching the show tonight. Good music from both acts.

Geoff, just had a chance to sit down & watch the ASL show from last nite. You sounded awesome, what a great job backing up that singer. Your Emmons sounded great ! What was the red pedal next to your Sarno Earth Drive ?
