New laptop to go with BIAB

Post by Frank Freniere »

Any recommendations for a Windows laptop that will be running BIAB?

I'm running 2011 on a Dell with 8GB Ram & 1TB Hard drive. I've had no problems at all. Before the Dell, I had XP and used the external HD and had no problems with it either.

Thanks, Norman. In fact, I have my eye on a Dell Inspiron w/ a 15" screen and 8gb RAM at Best Buy for around $600.

I don't know much about laptops but on my desk top computer, I had to increase the memory in order to handle the files, especially the real band files.
I fact, I had a special computer built just for BIAB and that's about all I have on it. It's not even connected to the internet. I didn't want to risk getting it corrupted.

I certainly want to use the real band files.

I forget what version it was, but when I got the upgrade there were 8 DVD disks completely loaded up. That's the time I had to get a different computer.
I got about 1/2 way through the download and I ran out of memory! :whoa:
