I ran across a Mooney steel guitar on Reverb.com. Here are a few pics of the push forward lever. If I'm not mistaken, years ago this may have been the "Z" lever that Bobbe Seymour referred to.

Jerry Brightman had a push lever on one of his Emmons guitars that I saw when he played a show here in Michigan in the early 2000's. That sure looks like the same concept to me. Wish I'd have bought that kit from him when I had the chance. |

Let's draw a line in the sand right here and now...
From this day forward, every pedal steel manufactured will have a Left Knee Forward!
Arrr ya with us or again' us?!
I think I saw this Steel in St.Louis one year.
Love the idea. |

Check with Steve Takacs. That looks like the Mooney he posted some time ago. |

Jim Palenscar put a push lever on a guitar for John McClung.
I contact Jim about it and he sent me a sketch on the setup, way simpler that the above arrangement. |

'What do I have at hand to create a Forward lever for my Sierra?..." I think you could get around the directional issue by using a cable and two pulleys that are 90 degrees apart, one right above the other. Cables. yeeeees...
I am actually going to Jim's shop Dec 15th or 16th, so I will discuss this industry wide, "stop the presses" type of Left Knee Verticle implementation across the nation, while manufactures tool up for the big change. |

Scratch the cable and pulleys!
You can accomplish the same with an angle and pivot. |

Next thing you know, someone will come up with a pull lever, that goes under your knee, behind the calf of your leg. Start training those butt muscles... |
