Buddy Charleton - Wow!
The last I heard of him, he was working weekends outside of Washington DC.
Anybody know if he's still alive?

Neil,
I'm sorry to say Buddy passed away in 2011. He was one of my most favorite steel players. He had a touch all his own that many players on here wished they had.
May he rest in peace.

Thanks for that one, David. Next time someone asks me "What's the difference between the two necks?" the perfect demo is right there! :)

Was there ever a guy who looked more like he BELONGED behind a steel guitar?

I am amazed at how much Buddy gets out of a guitar with such a simple set-up. A true artist for sure! IMHO
