That Blue one is in France Mickey
it was brought over by Ted Nesbitt who had sold it to a fellow in England
He told me it was built for Russ Hicks - it was early model
3rd or 4th one built
My buddy Yoyo in France bought it & added 3 levers on C6

i'm fairly sure that your steel was the first jch i saw. it was originally owned/made for (?) jim gray in sacramento. i loved it and was disappointed when jim let loose of it. it was orinally tomato puke orange. it was a very pretty guitar, loaded with pedals and levers and had the push botton switches between the necks.

Yes, it was Chinese Red or Chinois Red. I bought it from John Lazarus of Arizona in January 2007. John had it remica'd black.

I recently purchased one from fellow forumite Eric Philippsen that I believe is pictured on the previous page. It is unique in that it has 10/8 but the front of the guitar is a burst lacquer w a wooden neck and the back is mica w a metal neck. Great ax!

Sonny Priddy posted this back in 2008:

I'm pretty sure that this is the guitar I've just acquired (11/17/16). Buck Reid was kind enough to call me about it although he couldn't remember this particular steel. He did confirm that it was built before 2000 which can be determined by the way the rods attach to the pedals.

All I see is 'JCH D10-L' stamped inside the end-plate.

I owned #1006 for a while, bought it from Chris Lucker and sold it to John Macy. It is a great guitar.
I have the one stamped with Dick Miller for himself now. It is every bit the guitar that the 1006 was.
She's a beauty too. I love it but will probably sell it soon.
Let me know if you think anybody would be interested in it

just want to revive this thread now that I'm a JCH junkie :)

I'm the proud owner of Savell's guitar in the post above. got the 10th pedal back on and an expanded copedent that I'm just starting to dig into. life is good!

it's also been a joy communicating with Elsie Crawford over the phone, she knows these guitars and this company like the back of her hand! she's a real sweetheart, just like Jimmie.

forgive the photo, but it still feels like Christmas around here...

Purely out of interest, I want to bring this thread to the top

Maybe there's a bit more info out there? At least two CP(JCH) have come to light (see Scott's D10 currently for sale).

Junior Mercer has one, Maybe two.

Jon Graboff: do you still have yours, the prettiest one ever, in my view?

I think steel player Steve Sturm still has his white JCH D-10 with blue top that he played in Travis Tritt's band.

here's the JCH I'm keeping. it's numbered 1080 and the story (confirmed by Elsie Crawford) is that Jimmie built it around 1990-91 especially for Buddy Emmons. Buddy played it and they say he really loved it, but was endorsing Sierra guitars at the time and didn't feel right accepting it. Jimmie apparently kept it as one of his personal guitars and it went to Roger Ricker after Jimmie passed on. I obtained it earlier this year from Doug Fuller in Canada and what can I say... I feel so blessed to own it.

not the best photo but it's a very dark red, possibly the "deep wine" color that Bobbe Seymour described earlier in this thread

No 12-string JCHs, maybe, but with the exception of the one Jimmie built for Buddy Emmons?

I'm pretty sure it was 10 strings on E9 and 12 on C6th.

Where is that one now?
