Oldest sister Barbara passed
My oldest sister Barbara passed Monday morning Aug 8, after dealing with many on going health issues for a couple of years. Barb was 78.
Knowing and expecting that this was going to happen doesn't make it easier, perhaps less shocking, but none the less , it's still a devastation.
Barbara was in the music business her entire life, she was married to guitar great Mickey Baker early on and was always involved in executive production of music, she was the financial deal maker to get the recordings from the studio to the market. She made the deals with the labels.
One of her major projects was the 80's Ray, Goodman and Brown record of " You Must be a Special Lady" on the R+B charts. I believe this record was on the charts for multiple weeks as high as #4 or 5 nationally.
Barb and her producer husband were responsible for easily 30 or more LP's that hit the markets over their active tenure in the business, This also included many tracks for TV and film.
As my daughter said yesterday, Aunt Barbara was a very "jazzy" lady with an incredibly positive personality, she made everyone feel comfortable, presidents of companies right down to those that had nothing. She also spoke 4 languages fluently.
RIP sister Barb, gonna miss you big time...

thank you all for the nice words, prayers and condolences, very much appreciated.
We were able to have a small memorial gathering this past weekend at Barbs home in Fl. so that we could each get some form of closure. In a sad time we did find joy in celebrating her life.
Thank you all.
