Kline Custom Universal For Sale
Well guys, I guess the time has come for me to bow out of playing as I am fighting health and age problems. I decided shortly before retiring to try and play steel, but it was later in life. Joe built this guitar for me in Florida a few years ago. The setup is Emmons and the guitar has five knees and seven foot pedals. It's a pretty red lacquer guitar and it is keyless. My friend Ray DeVoe will be posting pics for me Wednesday night. I am asking the best offer over $3500 plus shipping. Thank You, Will Rogers. 330-575-1458 or 330-875-2401
Wills Kline
Here are a few pictures of Wills guitar. These were just taken in April before he went back to OH.
It's a beautiful guitar.
Please contact Will with any questions or offers.
Thanks

I didn't know Joe was still building steels. This one's a beauty. Good luck with the sale. These are like a ZB on steroids with much better mechanics!

Hi Steve
I was happy to help you out.
As to the sale of this guitar, Will is one of nicest guys you will ever meet. We have been friends for quite some time. I hate to see him give up playing but he feels that it's time. The guitar is in beautiful condition and I hope that the next owner will take care of it and appreciate it like Will has.

I have played this guitar. It plays great and sounds even better. I saw it this past Sunday at the jam and it's as clean as the day he got it, as is all of his equipment. I have known Will for many years now and you'll never meet a nicer guy. He's one of my favorite people. If I had the money this would go home with me in a heartbeat.
Good luck with the sale Will. I had a great time last Sunday at your jam.

Wish my Kline was as pretty as this one ....BEAUTIFUL !!....IT amazes me how so much tone can come out of such a small pedal steel !!..... I still laugh when I look at the underside of my Kline .....I call it "Controlled Chaos " ...... Plays and sounds GREAT though !!....Good Luck with the sale ...Nicest Kline I've seen to date !!...Jim

What a work of art!! I bet it sounds as good as it looks? I owned a Pro 1 that was a similar color. It was stunning to look at, just as this Kline is !! Good luck on the sale.

I spoke on the phone with Will, who is great to talk with. I can answer a couple of the posted questions as a result of that conversation.
WV sticker is a decal which can be removed.
Cross is inlaid, therefore permanent.
Copedent, from what I can gather from our conversation, as Will isn't sure of the B6 pedals and a couple of levers... He is sure of the E9 side pedals and the left knee levers
ABC pedals are Emmons.
LKL lowers E to F
LKV lowers B to A#
LKR lowers E to D#
RKL Lowers string 2 to D and (I think) string 8 to D ( It might raise 9 to D)
RKR F# to G lowers
B6 pedals are a guess, as Will never started playing the 6th side.... but I think that I see pedal 8 in the 4 position, pedal 5 in the 5 position, pedal 7 in the 6 position and I'm not sure of the 7th position pedal.... maybe P6 is just releasing the E lower.
Someone more familiar with the underside of a Kline might be able to decode it better.

Price?
I`m looking to replace my U-12 Kline, built to my specs in `83.
Had to sell it 4 years ago to avert a disaster.
I sold to a fellow forumite for $1900 though.
And this is my current budget.
Doubt you will be interested by it
never hurts to check....

How many raises and lowers per string on a Kline? That ZB looking changer end is very mystifying.
