Congrats Neil Flanz

Post by John Macy »

Congrats to Neil on his induction to the Steel Guitar Hall of Fame! I have known Neil since 1973 and it is so great to see him recognized! Look him up if you are ever in Austin--he is a treasure trove of history, audio and videos. Also looking forward to having him back in Denver November 6th for the 3rd Annual Mile Hi Gram Jam for Gram Parson's 70th birthday celebration.

Congrats buddy!!

That's great! :)

Met him in Austin 10 years ago. Got off the plane and went straight to the Broken Spoke and he was playing that night! He came to our show the next evening at the Continental Club and we hung out and got to chat for a bit. What a nice guy!!

I had the pleasure of doing guitar duties along side Neil for a couple of years in Austin with the band Fingerpistol. I can't remember ever finding Neil without a story or anecdote on most any music related subject. It was always a pleasure, and as John mentioned he loaded me up with a lot of really cool videos and recordings.

Truly one of the nicest guys I've met in the biz, and well deserving of the award.

And wishing Neil a very Happy Birthday today as well!

Congratulations on your well deserved induction to the Steel Guitar Hall of Fame! Thanks for signing the steel show poster for me. Our friend, David Kraai, gave it to me last week at a gig, and it put a smile on my face.

And Neil's image on his plaque is remarkably accurate, compared to some of the other countenances of previous HOF inductees. Congratulations, my old friend. :)

Son, we live in a world with walls, and those walls have to be guarded by men with steel guitars. Who's gonna do it? You? You, Lt. Weinberg?

Congrats Neil.
The 1st piece of pedals steel instruction I ever got was Neil's ShoBud LP...way back when.
Also thanks Neil for the Tab of Love Hurts you sent me years ago when you were in Florida.
I finally got to meet you in Dallas several years ago. I love your Still Safe At Home CD.
Best to you.
