Zum Ext. E9 beautiful 5x5

Post by Scott McRee »

I'm selling my gorgeous 2002 zum steel because I just need the money. This guitar is a tone monster. It has 5 pedals and 5 levers and I have 2 extra pedals and pedal rods I'll throw in as well if you want to make it a universal. It used to be universal and then I had Tommy Dodd go over the whole guitar and convert it to ext. E9. It looks great and sounds just wonderful. I hate having to let this one go and was recommended to hold onto it but I just need the money right now. Case is in great shape as well. Standard Emmons setup with a nice immediate minor chord change wherever you're at on the 5th pedal. 1st pedal is Franklin pedal then standard Emmons A, B, and C pedals. E's on the left. Obviously all of thid is easily adjustsble to your liking. Selling for $3,100 obo. These guitar are only increasing in value because Bruce isn't making them anymore.

TTT. This guitar is a spectacular one. I'm shocked it's still available. Really big sound and comes with 2 more pedals which makes it 7x5.

I went through this guitar and converted it over to an extended E9 for Scott. I know this to be a very solid, great sounding guitar and in great shape. Somebody's going to get a real deal.

Tommy's a great guy and very meticulous. If he worked on this Zum you can rest assured it's quality work and setup properly!

Silly me Paddy-missed the build date, I was so excited I bought the guitar immediately !! Should arrive here in UK on Tues 7th !!
Can't wait - All I've got to do now is get used to 12 strings instead of 10 which I've been grappling with for 40+years!! Hey Ho ever onward !! Wish me luck ! :P

12 string

Post by Scott McRee »

Gus once you get used to where that it has string is you'll be good to go. You'll love the guitar. It will feel a little awkward grabbing thathe 5,6,8 grip at first because you'll feel like youre in the lower middle portion of the stringshow. Make a little sharpie Mark on the 8th string. Should help. I love 12 Strings though. Those low cello like strings amazing. Let me know how you like the guitar. [/list]

Zum 5x5

Post by Gus York »

Just received a wonderful guitar ZUM 12str 5X5 from Scott Mcree. Well packed-guitar is like new for a 14yr old instrument! Well pleased I am Scott-just got get to grips with what looks like another 500 strings-Hah!
Biggest problem as Scott now knows is UK import duty from the US + 20% of value in VAT-that cost me another $650 ??? I was under the impression that used older instruments did not have that tax charge levied-seems our lot changed that and didn't tell anyone ?? Hey Ho, I'll try hard to forget that bit of shitty news. By the way my divorce is next week ! Hah ! Once again Scott, thanks for a great guitar. Gus. :D

Uber-special pedal steel.

Post by steve takacs »

Heh, Gus,
It's only money which would have been used for a few pints more in any case. You picked up an unusually fine Zum specimen that looks, plays and sounds uber-special. Enjoy it. Hope to hear you play it someday soon.

This steel could not have gone to a nicer guy and one who really knows how to play steel steve t.
