Is the Gary Carter the same that was Carter Steel Guitars?

I am speaking of the Gary Carter that plays for Connie Smith.
No particular reason for wanting to know, just curious thats all.
I dream of being able to just have 2 notes sound as good as his..as goes for the rest of you guys on here, how do y'all do it?
