Fender 400 pedal steel guitar $850 SOLD !! Plse close
I purchased this fine steel guitar not too many months ago and really have not played it as much as I thought I would...it was more of a nostalgia thing for me. I would like to see someone buy it who would really use it and play it like it should be played. It is in very good condition considering its a mid 60s model, I believe. Hopefully the pictures will tell the story and I have more that I can email upon request, or you can request specific ones. It is currently tuned to E9, the tuners work well, the pickup works well. I can post the exact raises and lowers of the pedals if there is any interest. I am only selling this to finance another steel and am asking what I paid for it. It has a few scratches and nicks but really is in remarkable condition for a guitar of this age and the sunburst finish is really striking. The pedal bar has some nicks and there is one on the top portion of the guitar. The chrome parts are really nice. I have tried to show the condition in the pics, but feel free to write and ask for more specifics if you are interested. I will accept pay pal if you pay the fees and will ship to lower 48 if you pay the shipping. The guitar is now in the Phoenix Az area and I would be glad to meet someone in this area so they could see it in person. I dont think you would be disappointed in this guitar in any respect. Thanks for looking and feel free to email or pm an questions.

Thanks again.

Nobody wants to talk to me about this fine old steel ?
Small market and I realize that, just would like to have a little feedback, positive or negative. I am open to suggestions. At least it hasnt been tampered with and as far as I can tell is original.
Pictures not good enough ? I can take more and better.
Need more description ? Ask away and I will try to answer them.
Want it for less money ? I have a little wiggle room on this guitar, but I think its priced fair considering its condition.
Emails and pms welcome All I can do is say no.

Dear Larry,
I feel bad for you that nobody is getting back to you. I have an old Fender 400 that's in great shape and sounds just wonderful. I play this guitar nearly every day. I have mine tuned to C6th and that seems to work out much better than trying to tune it to E9th, which having only 8 strings and 4 pedals (no knees)is asking alot out of this guitar. Maybe you can suggest in your posting that with the C6th tuning, this guitar really stands out and with the exception of those last 2 base note strings, it'll really do a great job on Texas Swing music...and of course you can't beat that old "Fender sound."
Best wishes,
Dennis

Thanks Dennis for your input...i had actually considered doing that myself...making it my c6th guitar and just keeping it and i may yet...i was trying to raise some funds to go towards a mullin d10 that i have on order. I think you are right tho, whe you consider you can buy a modern stage one for example, why bother with the older fender unless you just want that sound...i am not discouraged, like i said i know itsa small market, so i will just hang on to it and see what happens. As i mentioned this was a nostalgia trip for me as my first pedal steel was a fender 400 that i bought new in 1968 or 69. Thanks again for responding

Thanks Gary, yes I think it is a fair price. I am not desperate to sell it, but really am not playing it like I thought I would, and would like to see someone own it who would do it justice. I know there is a small market for this kind of steel, but if you like the sound and the challenge of playing one of these, you wouldnt be disappointed in this steel. Thanks for looking.

I almost had the wife ready to hand over the credit card Larry until she decided she couldn't live with the bright sunburst in the living room. I tried every trick to reason-even saying she wouldn't be able to see it that much cause there would always be a crowd of babes right up front listening to me playing(they're all after an older steel man, right?)but I don't think it helped. Best of luck with it and I'll keep working on her! Ben.

I have had several interesting offers for this steel, but am holding out for the right one. I am not interested in a trade. I would lower the price to a buyer who is willing to meet me and I am willing to drive up to 250 miles. I really kinda hate to ship this guitar...it would probably make it just fine, but I would feel better if I didnt have to ship it. So, again, shoot me an offer if you are interested.
