This was my first time to see Billy play... now I know what I've been missing out on. Billy is CEO of the Southwest Steel Guitar Association, they run the Phoenix steel show early in January, and though I haven't made one yet, you can bet I'll never miss another. Billy's backed up by our normal bunch:

Mark Moseley guitar
Carco Clave guitar
Charlie Irwin bass
Ron Erwin snare

The Texas Steel Guitar Association's Rick Alexander Sessions are held in memory of Rick Alexander, who ran the non-pedal room at the annual TSGA Jamboree for many years. You can find Rick's performance and instructional video on YT under the rickalexander47 and 'Rick Alexander 1947-2009' channels. Gone but not forgotten, thanks for your contributions Rick.

Thanks Stephan for posting this...I was not even aware that it was being video taped! Now I can show my family why I disappear from AZ every March....it was a lot of fun, and I hope to be better prepared and maybe you will invite me to play next year! Thanks again to the Carco Clave, Bob Blair, and the backup band...

Billy

Thanks, Bill Cunningham....it reminds of the stuff I tried to play when I was a lad...and I still love it.

I enjoyed that Stephen. Billy's my hometown hero! That's not even his guitar...he looks right at home w/o pedals.

Thanks for posting this ! I spent a lot of time in that room during the show but I missed seeing Billy !
Great stuff, as usual...he is so talented in all that he does...the people here in Mesa are still raving about what a great job he did in a recent Marty Robbins tribute show ! I wished I would have come down to Casa Grande to get some steel lessons from you Billy !!
