Nashville visit 2/11 -> 2/15/2016, seeking recommends

Post by Ted Smouse »

Hey everybody,

My wife and I are gonna be in Nashville next week to hang out, flying in Thurs. Feb. 11, and will be there for Thurs. -> Sunday night, before flying out early Monday evening, Feb. 15, 2016.

Looking for any recommendations on good live music including steel guitar (of course), twangy guitar, honky tonk ....etc. Any other recommends too.

I used to be in Nashville 2 or 3 times a year before we moved to Austin nine years ago. So, many of the places I used to go for music, etc, have closed or shifted. We'll have our twelve year old daughter with us.

Thanks a bunch,

Ted Smouse

Thanks Ray for the info,

I think by the time we get out of the airport, we would arrive in time for the dreaded, "Thank You and Good Night" that you get when you don't make a gig in time that you wanted to see.

Have a great weekend and week next week!

The Wheel

You should visit the Wheel, on Broadway, either Saturday night or Sunday night. Gary Gibson is there with a real Country Music band. It's the most Country Music you'll hear in Nashville!

Check on the Long Hollow Jamboree. Bobby Reed would know the time and what night. Or post the question on the Forum. I think it is on Friday nights, but could be on Saturdays. Family Friendly.

Thanks also George and Bryant!

I've got a list going now, from suggestions from here and friends & pickers who live in Nashville.

Happy to have any info anyone else wants to post back with.

I just picked up tix at 3rd and Lindsley. Friday Night. 3rd and Lindsley. Whitey Morgan and the 78's. Doesn't get much more Country/Honky Tonk than that. I'm the big goofy guy watching the steel.

If you're looking for a steel guitar in Nashville, TN; Rusty Danmyer plays every Tuesday & Wednesday with the Music City Playboys from 9pm - 1am at the Music City Bar & Grill on Music Valley Drive, which is right behind the Nashville Palace.

If I'm in Nashville, and I'm able, you can find me on the front row!! :-)
